Located at the heart of the Kaimana Marine Protected Area in West Papua, Triton Bay is the final frontier of diving in Indonesia. The region was first surveyed in 2006 and is still being explored today, with new dive sites located every year. Boasting unique underwater habitats, colorful soft corals, incredible endemic species and whale sharks. Triton Bay feels like a time capsule from the past – remote, pristine and awaiting exploration.
How to get there?
As Sorong will serve as port of embarkation/disembarkation, you can fly to Sorong either from Jakarta, Makassar or Manado. There is no direct flight from Bali to Sorong. Should you fly from Bali, an overnight transit in Makassar will be needed before flying the next early morning to Sorong. However to fly back from Sorong to Bali, it is only a day transit without overnight. For most of these connections, you can fly with Garuda, Batik/Lion Air or Sriwijaya.
Dive Season
The months of March, April, May, September, October, November are considered best season to dive Triton Bay.
